​Last night I dreamed I was speeding down the highway. It was dark and I realized my headlights were off. No matter what I did I couldn't turn them on so I pulled off to the side of the road to assess and remedy the situation. 
 
In a way that can only happen in dreams, I had to go under the dashboard, inside the car to access a special switch. Once I found this special switch and figured out how to turn it on, the headlights glowed. Because it was a soft luminous glow, I put on the high beams to see if they would provide more light. A light unlike anything I have ever seen before beamed out of my headlights. Unlike regular high beams, these didn't blind those who saw them from the outside and they guided me, the driver.

For me, the message from my dream was clear...the answers I seek do not come from outside, they come from within. I have to look deep inside myself to find myself and to find Spirit.
 
Globally, a shift is happening. There is a new and better planetary energy upon us. You may be thinking "no way Jose, things are chaotic and crazy, people are losing their damn minds". To which I would reply, exactly! The old energy on the planet was heavy and dark; the veil dense. It kept things stagnant. Change was slow to happen. People chugged along in the same fashion they have throughout history.
 
During this transition into the new planetary energy, the dark stuff will clear away, but it has to rise to the surface first. Right now there seems to be such a division in this country and perhaps across the planet. It's always been there; we just didn't necessarily want to see it. We resisted looking at it to avoid being uncomfortable.

Surely you've noticed this, things are different. People are waking up and turning on their lights. And where there is light, the dark cannot survive. By dark, I mostly mean fear.

With this change in energy, things that have remained hidden for years are surfacing because darkness can't hide when the lights are on. And make no mistake about it, people are waking up, their lights are turning on. People are rising up, speaking out, finding their own voices.

Liken it to a walk in the woods. There are creepy crawlies under every rock and critters everywhere, but we don't think about those things as we trod down our path, we simply enjoy what we can see and feel. But when you turn over the rock and let some light in you see what's there, what's always been there hiding in the dark. It's no different with people. Some are racist, xenophobic, homophobic, misogynistic assholes. They always have been; they were just hiding under rocks. With the shift, the truth comes out. We can see people as they really are.

Change is happening. We can either hang on with all our might to the old ways, or we can let go and ride the waves into the new energy.

We can either resist it or embrace it. Just keep in mind “that which we resist, persists”. (More on that in an upcoming blog). Let go of fear...love and light always win in the end.

The future is bright. Peace and compassion are on their way, we just have to be patient and do what we can to help. Find what feeds your soul and do more of it. Be yourself, your authentic self. Pay attention to what triggers you in other people. There is something to learn about yourself in it (this can be hard!).

We have to go deep within and find the switch, it is there, just waiting to be discovered. The answers you want are not outside of you, they are inside. Go find them.
 
Turn on your high beams, shine your light, let it guide you. I have no doubt you will be delighted where it takes you.

Goodbye 2016 and Hello 2017. 
 
It seems as though everywhere I turn people are waiting for 2106 to end, and to give it a big FU on the way out. 

As a collective, we have lost so many wonderful people. We weathered a crazy election. And as much as we may all differ in our thoughts and opinions, we did it together.
 
For fun, I sometimes dabble in numerology and it recently occurred to me that 2016 is a "9 year". Nine years mean completion and the end of something. I like to view it a graduation, we made it through and now we have a new beginning headed our way.
 
The old ways are coming to an end and we are starting fresh with a new cycle in 2017, a 1 year. One years are new beginnings, something different with a new energy.
 
People wanted change and it appears it’s upon us whether we are truly ready or not. Only time will tell how things play out, but it is clear to me that people are waking up. Many of us are very worried about what the new administration will bring, myself included. I also like to remind myself this is the 45th president… another "nine". Perhaps politics will evolve and the next presidency will look completely different. Despite my numerous concerns, I remain hopeful.
 
The new year is a time for all of us to take stock of what we have, where we’ve been, where we are, and what we hope for in the new year. 
 
This is my first blog post in quite a while. During my break I worked on me. I found clarity on what I want in my own life, and what my offerings will be in the new year. I love doing inner work and connecting with spirit. As I evolve and transform into my authentic self I have found more freedom. I continue to work on living my life in alignment with my values. I have taken many steps to get where I am and have many more to go, but I am so much closer. As Lao Tzu famously said, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step".
 
My word for 2017 is "magic". To me, magic is all around us but we often don't see or acknowledge it. I am opening my arms, mind, and heart to receive as much magic as possible in the new year. It fills me with possibilites.
 
I strive to feel unshackled in any way, shape or form. And this is what I want for you to! I am pleased to announce that my whole coaching practice will revolve around "unshackling your soul". I don't believe there is such a thing as coincidence. When we delve deeper coincidences give us clues that steer us toward our own north star. If we investigate and listen they will guide us to create the life we crave. All we have to do ask the universe for guidance and wait for the magic to happen. The key is to be observant and be willing to suspend the logical brain's reasoning to brush it off as "just a coincidence".

I dig it. When I started paying attention and observing this in my own life, I can say for sure it has been happening a lot more often.

I had quite a doozy recently I would like to share. It started out small and when I didn't listen it got big!

I'll start off by mentioning I set up some signs and symbols with the universe last year. The intention was to ask a question and if the answer was yes to show me a car with one headlight in my rear view mirror within 24 hours. I don't even remember what happened at the time and I completely forgot about the whole thing.

Fast forward to last month.

We got hit with a snowstorm that was a little worse than expected. I was heading to work in the early hours of the morning and the roads were not yet plowed. I drive about a mile from my neighborhood to the road that leads to the highway. It's scary under these conditions. There wasn't any traffic so I was taking my time. Suddenly, a large SUV approached in my rear view mirror and I noticed it only had one headlight. It tailed me until we got to the light where we went our separate ways.

About 20 minutes later I had not made it very far and determined the road conditions were just too bad and getting worse by the minute so I decided to head back home. By the time I hit that same road it was getting light out, but lo and behold another car was driving directly behind me with one headlight. I thought it was weird because you don't see that very often, let alone twice in the same hour right behind you. It was a different car too, not an SUV.

The next day, on a different road, the same thing happened. A car with one headlight came up directly behind me.

At this point I started to take notice. What is up? This seems a little coincidental.

Okay, something is up. Universe what are you trying to tell me? What is the message here? Then I remembered the yes/no intention setting from last year so I decided to ask a question. I have had something on my mind for a while that I have not been able to decide. So I put it out there, should I or shouldn't I? If I see another car with one headlight directly behind me in the next day then I should.

Of course I won't see one, what are the odds?

The very next day, I turned onto the same road and sure enough a VW bug came up behind me with one headlight. Later that day, on different road, the same thing, a different car. WTF????

I still kept telling myself it is just a coincidence! My logical reasoning had all kinds of explanations for it.

I did not act on my question. I did nothing.

Then last week I had "the big doozy".

Last Wednesday, the universe wanted me to listen. It happened 6 times. SIX TIMES. SIX DIFFERENT CARS. All in one day.

On my commute to work it happened 3 times. On 3 different occasions as I looked in my rear view mirror the car directly behind me only had one headlight. These cars were each directly behind me on a crowded commute. Not in a different lane, not coming toward me, I didn't move to get in front of them and I am absolutely certain they were different cars. I wasn't thinking about it at all, I would just glance in the rear view mirror and there it would be. The first 2 times I didn't really even pay attention but by the 3rd time I was like "what is up??"

Then on my commute home it happened twice. I couldn't believe it, that was 5 times in one day. Seriously weird. But then I had to run to the store 2 miles away and on my drive back home it happened again! I was only in my car 4 times that day. I think the universe was driving the point home.

All I could do was laugh and say okay, it's a yes. Thank you!!!!

So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Weird, yes. True, yes!
